Jennifer Joyce embarked on a life of creating functional & sculptural ceramics in 1995

Jennifer Joyce, a native of Southern California, embarked on a life of creating functional and sculptural ceramics in 1995. Joyce is a sculptor and ceramist whose body of work is both thoughtful and whimsical.  She brings a unique background in dance, music, archaeology and photography to her art.  As a past modern dancer and working archaeologist, Jennifer weaves lightness and whimsy, movement, dance and music into her pieces.

Jennifer opened her own ceramics school in Santa Monica, California in 1995 for 18 years and established another location in San Clemente in 2013.  In her San Clemente studio she continued her ceramics school and also founded the Artists Studios of San Clemente, an artist studio collective that is still thriving.

Since moving to Sonoma County, Jennifer has opened her private studio to teaching, has taught numerous classes and workshops at the Sonoma Community Center, teaches for the Mentor Program and has taught part-time at the Sonoma Academy in Santa Rosa.  Her emphasis is on hand building, wheel throwing and figurative sculpture.

The Showroom and Gallery for Jennifer Joyce Ceramic Arts is located in Santa Rosa: 1365 Kowell Road Santa Rosa, CA 95401

Classes are held in Santa Rosa at a separate location. Call for directions.

Her public installations can be seen around the world from the Islands of Anguilla and Lanai to the Aria Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and her artwork and custom commissions are in private collections.  Jennifer continues to consult with clients on custom designs for homes, professional offices and the hospitality industry.

Jennifer Joyce lives among the redwood trees in Monte Rio, has a passion for most baby animals and a particular fondness for big & small cats, dogs, elephants, ravens, wolves, foxes and cows. When she is not making things out of clay, she is creating music, playing keyboards and playing the saxophone.
